The All New Whelen Legacy...

I'll be a bit disappointed of this is simply a super-thin bar with mostly ION lightheads. I'm trying to figure out where all of their lightbars fit in terms of cost and features. The Liberty is their flagship bar; the Freedom is basically geared toward the large apparatus market; the introduction of the Justice (as I understood) was supposed to be the economical alternative to the Liberty. I know the Delta is still available, but that's "special order" only. I don't recall the status of the Centurion. I'm assuming the Century Elite is the new economical Justice, as the latter had a notable increase in features and cost. Where does the Legacy fit in?

I understand that Federal Signal has a patent on non-linear lightbars. How does Rontan circumvent this with their WingLux and Spyder lightbars? I can see the WingLux not being a true violation of such a patent, but surely the Spyder is.

How dare you ask that question.

This is America.

And here in America, we do things, if for no other reason, than because we can.

Now that you brought that up... I think I might have to try one of those when I am there this weekend! hahaha

I have seen it, but can not reveal anymore than saying......IT IS ALL NEW!!!! It is a completely new bar from the ground up and nothing anyone has ever seen before. Not a Liberty, Freedom or any other bar you have ever seen. It will most likely be revealed at IACP along with A LOT of other new products, AND it is not the only new lightbar!

We already know about the Century Elite.

Cmon guys nobody here works at WHELEN? im surprised non of us whackers work there ??? I personally dont really care for whelen and would rather work for maybe Federal or Star signal but still im surprised non of us work there LOL

Kinda looks like whelens take on the avatar. Really thin. Ions.

I wonder if it is another riser type bar....

Nice save, John!

Sure enough, Whelen's taken a Tomar Blade and actually made it good.

Also... Don't post something on the Internet that you might wanna try to unpost. That tends to not work, as demonstrated above.

...create an account and leak the dealer flyer pre-release.... then pull it in a few hours. That will work right?

But does it come with the standard moisture issues most whelen exterior lights come with now a days, not to mention the two month old failure LEDs we have come to love... Yes this is sarcasm...

We have plenty of people directly or indirectly related to the major companies here. Our relationship with the manufacturers is always distant at best. They kinda sit back and watch, discard most of it as a waste of time and latch on to the occasional thread. I can tell you I have gotten multiple "please remove this thread bashing our lights" letters from every size company. Several companies have asked for user data in the past as well. Usually when something is leaked it's by a distributor or dealer. I love it when they try to take it back though...

Whelen i think has the emergency lighting for vehicles out there

yes and for planes too?

:Banghead:

I'll be interested to see if it has duo-colour options. I don't know how they'd do it with an ion sized light head... But duo colour seems to be all the rage these days

Without trying to stir the pot, I'd love to see trackbacks to the IP addresses.

Geez, you can't even spell "touche" correctly. WTF is a tusche'? Here, let me just google that for you:

Definition of TUSCH: A black liquid used for drawing in lithography and as a resist in etching and silk-screen work.

really? Lame. WTF? You obviously knew what it was, and invested the time to reply. The black liquid was spilled all over the photo.

I can't imagine a major manufacuter's bar being released these days without dual or tri colour options, and full front white flood capability, unless they're specifically going for the entry level market and want to keep the price as low as possible.

The lighthead looks more like a linear style. It doesn't look like an ion style. I think someone mentioned that on page 1 of this thread, too.
