Jotto Desk Contour... They didn't make it too long... Shortly after I got that one for my Av they discontinued it... Now they only one they have for these trucks is the 14" Single plane version... I'd much rather my dual 7" planes...

Well I switched out my TIR-3's for some 12" StreetGlow LED tube I had just laying around... They are no where near as bright as the TIR-3's (which I knew they wouldn't be) but they do the job I want them to do...

Here's a vid:

And the other upgrade I did isn't warning equipment, but it's a sweet modifications regardless... It's a GoodMark Industried Steel Cowl Hood. Painted, pin striped, and installed my me and my father at the body shop he works for.

Here it is when I got it, only thing we had to do to it was bring out the hood corners at the front. Other then that, it fit beautifully...

Here it is sitting in the paint booth in primer.

That is a badass piece of work! Please keep the strobes, there are too many LEDs out there.

Very unusual having the rear auxiliary lights on top of the corner strobes... if you ask me that's another case of an inside-out lightbar, which I like if it's done properly like yours is.

(An inside-out lightbar is one with white lights - flashing or scene lights - on the edges and colored lights in the middle)

Well, I got bored over the weekend and put some more lights in the Av... LOL I put the Inner Beams I had laying around in the upper windshield... But instead of having them how they are "supposed" to be, I flipped them... So now they point forward and slightly inward instead of out at a 45 degree angle... I hooked them up to my ULF-44 and synced them with my 700s in the grill in an "X" pattern... At this rate I might just get rid of the 9622 on the roof... LoL The mounts are home made out of some sheet metal I had laying around. The metal is held in by one of the screws on the sun visor, and the lighthead is held onto the mount by 3M Moulding tape... (I know, not the more professional way, but I'm not sure if I'm going to keep them installed, since they are for sale. LoL Plus I might sit down with some metal and make a better looking bracket...) And they blend in very well on the top of the widnshield behind the factory tint strip...

Some pics... (Click for larger image)

Since I sold my InnerBeams because I forgot to take them out of my For Sale Thread, I finally got my MirrorBeams installed... I've had the housings for a couple of months and just recently got LEDs to fill them... LoL And if I do say so myself, they look AWESOME!!!

ai64.photobucket.com_albums_h191_tritontim47_The_20Avalanche_IMG_20101102_172830.jpg

I'm still debating on whether or not to paint them body color, or just leave them black for now... But either way, their effectiveness is off the scale... Now my Av looks 15 feet wide coming down the road... LoL

And here's a quick vid I took the night I installed them...

They were alot tougher to install on these mirrors as compaired to the mirrors on my '95 Tahoe that I had MirrorBeams on, but well worth it...

they look great. i'd keep them black as they are (i think that having the black mirrors and trim along the bottom of the doors makes the truck look a little more rugged than if everything was simply the grey-ish/silver-ish color).

PS i've never seen the "cali steady burn" on a blue light (can't say i hate it tho ;) )

Yeah, A couple of us in the area have out dash lights set-up like that... LOL

It's currently all steady now... The other "B" in B&B (triton911bj) suggested it the other night at a call, and it looks killer IMO... LoL

nice setup..are those leds in the edge bar?
NO, the Edge is a 9622 that I customized... It's got 12 strobes, rear amber flashers, take-downs, alleys, and rear work lights that come on with my reverse lights...

Awesome truck, sir!

One question: I didn't realize that the Mirror-Beams could be installed on the GM trucks with the Z71 package. I purchased a 2007 Sierra Classic a few months ago, and it has the Z71 package. I was hoping to install the Mirror-Beams, but the literature indicates otherwise. Did you have to deviate from the installation guide to get these mounted?

I really want a set for my truck, and I like these much more than the SOS Intersectors.

Nope, but the '07 might have different mirrors between the Z71 and non-Z71 models... Mine is an '03 and the mirrors are all the same...

10-4. Seeing that the '07 Sierra Classic is the same body style as the '99-'06, I'll have to see if I can buy a set of these Mirror-Beams then. Of course, it's not listed in the catalog anymore, so I'll have to give the good folks at Whelen a call tomorrow.

Yeah, there should be no problems if you have a classic... My Av is a Z71 and I didn;t have any real problems... It was just a more involved process as compaired to the last MIrror Beams I had...

Boulder,

It looks awesome. I love the combination of the strobes and leds together. I am just a little envious of your setup!

Very nice! I like what you've done with the rear corner sections, with rear scene lights and blue strobes in the same section; also i think the traffic advisor has a much better flash pattern than most at indicating where you want people to go.

Yeah... The only empty spot in the whole bar is the section under the rear flashers... And I actually cut the duplex frame in half to move them to the outer portion of the bar... With the Auxiliary reverse lights there, it throws the most amount of light where I want it to the rear and a little bit to the sides.

I added some new lights today. 6 new StrobesNMore/Pimp Pods. 4 Blue and 2 Amber, running off of a Whelen ULF-44

2 Blue and 2 Amber are mounted on the bumper lip between the bumper and tailgate, and the 2 othe Blue ones are mounted on the LP Bracket next to the MULEs (BCDD-9000! LoL)
