My former fire dept had yellow, and I love it, plus it catches your eye on the interstate. Too those that believe color matters and it has to be red.... A quick question.. Why do Firefighters wear RED suspenders? ..

...Too keep their pants up. Color doesnt matter, Im still not sure I agree with pink...,

Red is the color in my area. Usually when I see another PD/EMS/FD of another color, I think how silly, the PD isn't black & white (or unmarked one or the other), ambulance isn't white, and fire truck isn't read. But, the mor eI see pics of other vewhicles, the more I come to like thoe colors. There are stoll a few I don't like, luke that pink one, or these ones form Canada (I think, don't quote me), that are an off creamish yellow. Gross. Whatever color it is, as long as they show up when I need help, either for me or somebody else, then thats the good point! Hell it could be green with pink polka-dots for what I care! Or in this case, Purple with flames....

(It looks more white than gray in the pic, but is truly gray.)

Johnson Township (Wolcottville, IN) Engine 53 - 1999 HME/EVI 4x4 Wildland Pumper - 500gpm/500gal

This apparatus previously served in Rogers, Arkansas prior to it's purchase in 2009. E53 is pump & roll capable and is used for brush fires where it's 4x4 comes in handy.

It looks black to me. But they also may have painted the lower domes blue to match the theme.

Beautiful southern Georgia!
This truck is right around the corner from me. They had to fight tooth and nail to get approval for the $$$ for it.

I love the DAAAARK red on San Francisco FD's E-5. I read an article that they for the 100th Anniverasy of the 1906 Earthquake the city went with the color of their rigs they had in 1906 for each of the rigs they purchased that year. I could only hope they would keep up the tradition and have all their apparatus that color...

out here the county fire districts changed to white in the 40's, the city depts stayed red, then in the 60's all the county depts went to yellow. our rescue squad and 1 brush rig are white,
