I don't think 46-2 has enough blinkies on it lol.

The new Tahoe/suburban design is slowly growing on me; the only thing I don't like about the Latham car is the use of the surface mount LAW (there is room to fit a surface mount Lighthead on the side of the front bumper shell)

I guess the lights on 46-2 are elevated on that white wire framework for better long distance visiblity.  Or for foggy eves.

I'm not a huge fan of the Boght vehicles...Sutphen makes some quality apparatus, but the dept's piss yellow color scheme is hideous & the C3 bar on their super duty utility looks too small

Nope, it's a C5GB.  However, it wouldn't have surprised me to see a 28 mounted like that.  FDNY used a lot of 28s on their equipment where you might've expected to see a Q or maybe a C5G, etc.

I ran across an old fire truck many years ago at a government surplus outfit that had a 28 mounted into the nose.  That rather baffled me at the time as that was long before I ever saw pix of FDNY's trucks that used 28s.
Hmmmmm....I like this!

What on earth is this thing? It looks like a bad attempt at looking futuristic from the 90's. I wonder what's in that light . . . area thing.

Here is some info-

Proprietary lightbar under which they have been known to put various things.  Premier Hazard rotators being one I believe.

I've never been a fan of the look of the front of Sutphen cabs, but they do make quality apparatus, & that Rescue 11 looks nice

There was something off about that Super Chief . . . they switched it out for a Q a few weeks ago.
What could be off about a Super Chief that they would replace it with a Q? You need to see one of Kevin O'Connell's Super Chief demos. His Super Chief outdoes a Q hands down every time!

I'm not sure, honestly. The one on Rescue 1 wound down a little too fast and peaked a little too high, so it ended up sounding overly brassy. For all I know the Q's just a replacement until the Super Chief gets fixed.

Doran, I would agree to a degree about some Super Chiefs being a bit higher pitched than others, and I'm not sure why that happens, since they're all constructed the same.  The ones that I have used were very deep-pitched and would rattle your brain for sure.  Some of the newer ones tend to roll not quite as long as some of the older ones due to changes that B&M has made in their clutches.  I have a CS8B that will roll a good 6 to 8 minutes, but it's an older siren that was originally built in the '50s.  What Kevin does in his demos is to show that at distance, the S.C. will beat a Q with no problem and it has been an extremely well-received selling point.

I've seen the comparisons and I can't argue that the Super Chief is a tiny bit superior to the Q. In any case, I'm just glad Rescue 1 still has a real mechanical siren, regardless of whether it's a B&M or a FS. If any rig in the city needs one, it's Rescue 1.

I love the Marlborough Fire District Tahoe setups, but I would've liked to see another M4 on the side (rear bumper). As for the Verdoy unit, that is the most odd spot I've seen a kussmaul/shoreline mounted on a tahoe

I'm curious why North Bethlehem went with dark-colored slicktops w/ ghost graphics. Darien CT and a handful of depts in the NY/Conn. area vol FDs do that, and I think it's silly to have dept vehicles that look like they're trying to pass themselves off as NYSP or other PD. If a dept receives a dark-colored vehicle as a donation, I could understand that, but I would certainly try to make it very clear that it's a fire/EMS vehicle (but that's just me)

I do like how empire is going slightly euro-style with the striping on the lower sides (even tho the chevrons are upside down); I would like to see more reflective chevrons on checkers on the sides of vehicles in the US

The Chiefs cars are unmarked which I'm fine with but the ghost graphics on the utility pickup is kinda stupid.
Midland PD is now using ghost graphics on some of their Tahoes.  I see them on the Loop on my way into town and you have to look twice to see that it's a PD unit.
