As for the NYSP boat, that looks like a random boat they seized or something & just threw some trooper markings on it. If I were a marine unit, I would not want to patrol in that tub

When you say that Canadian Pacific 7G71 is dispatched through State Police, are you referring to NYSP or their SP? I'm guessing you meant NYSP since their radio ID is a NYSP troop G identifier, but I'd be very interested to know more about how their jurisdiction works here.


On the blinkie front, that is a sexy setup on the NGPI utility; I really love Canadian LEO vehicle graphics

Well they are really dispatched through their own system but have a NYSP identifier. Like most Railroad police agencies they cover a LARGE area with only 1 or 2 officers and have jurisdiction over their right of ways. They like most wide area agencies have the ability to talk on any system in the area where their tracks go through but they have an office in Clifton Park, NY in Saratoga County.

Wow, it's about damn time that NYSP has some grill and intersection lights on the setinas! Aside from those Troop D vehicles above, I haven't seen that on NYSP vehicles before (I'm used to only seeing the pair of grill TIR3s behind the CVPI honeycomb grill when they had the old style PBs)

Yea, the ProGard pushbumpers on the Tahoes were short lived. Also a side not that the IONs are being replaced by NForce heads in the Tahoe pushbumpers. The setup on the D K9 car is very very odd as others don't have the colossal amount of lightheads on the PB and the dual avenger on the dash. Here are the Different types of bumpers.

I'm (pleasantly) suprised they are going with SOS nForce on the PBs...for as long back as I can remember, they've generally been a whelen only (minus the siren) agency.


I hope that they eventually move towards having forward- and side-facing PB nForce on all future builds. 2 questions:


1) do they still have the custom (spaced out) rear dominators on the newer units?


2) I used to love their amber/red TLF. Do they still use custom TLF (alternating turn signals and brake lights), or did they go to the standard TLF since the rear turn signals are now red (and their TLF would be alternating red/red)

The Tahoes don't have any amber in the taillights, they haven't since 2006-7. As far as the TAM8NYS arrowstick in the rear of the new cars I don't know, haven't looked.

I love seeing the mirrorbeams and sidekicks on those 2 NYSP slick tops! I just wish that side PB warning and A-post area lighting (either sidekicks or mirrorbeams) would become a standard on all of their regular and skicktop setups.
