Looks like a Federal WLRG on the roof.
The siren sound is a recording of a late 1960s Federal PA15A or PA20A (B, C, or D series).
Not in the final cut... 79 Fury
Here is a video from "Starsky & Hutch". Has Fireballs and Flashball clips:
Two recordings of the PA20, one wail and one yelp overdubbed in the studio and added in post production. The siren is on wail and yelp simultaneously ? Musta been a Hollywood special model...
Those look like PA20As. Where I live I can remember a couple of ambulances running dual PA20As - one was a late 1960s model with the low-pitched tones and the other was a 1970s model with high-pitched tones. The low pitched wail and high-pitched yelp sounded kinda neat together. This is probably what they had installed in their car

You can tell they are using diffrent cars. If you watch the first clip, the car has chrome rims. Fast forward to 4:33 and they are painted gray. Here is a video from "Starsky & Hutch". Has Fireballs and Flashball clips:
I watched that movie a few times, and I still think that the Mars Aurora Borealis light bars were the stars of the show.Sugarland Express
The siren in the bottom picture is a Federal PA20. It is a very old siren (c. 1962-1966). Recordings of this type of siren were used in post production for a lot of TV shows and movies that were made during the latter half of the 1960s and all throughout the 1970s.View attachment 164226
From the same movie.
Saw this last night in a cheesy 1971 movie Dracula vs Frankenstein. An Amber - Red Visibar. I think the siren is a WG. Is suppose to be in Venice, California.

Tis so! I caught that too. Wonder where they pulled that from?Is that a Sireno Condor lightbar (second to last picture, white caprice, red/blue lightbar)?
Wow, that show must have been a big hit.
BJ and the Bear was a horrible show. I couldn't watch one episode all the way though."BJ & the Bear"
What was the light beacon & siren on andys car ?
I seen a fire dept with this set up in a rescue truck with 2 PA300'sThis is probably what they had installed in their car
