Movies & Television: Police, Fire & EMS Vehicles

All from the show Supernatural. From what I can tell, an MX7000, Edge 9000, Aerodynic, and an older one I don't recognize (can't recall the make/model).

Code 3 LP6000 is the bar in the last pic ;)

Backdraft 2..... Chicago FD, red n blue lights? LED bars don't even look real. No green. Probably why it went straight to Netflix.

Car 54 1994

The car may not be consistent but it is a cheesy and funny movie.

In New York City, two cops, Gunther Toody (David Johansen) and Francis Muldoon (John C. McGinley), are tasked with guarding Herbert Hortz (Jeremy Piven). A witness who's due to testify in an organized crime case, Hortz has damning information about mobster Don Motti (Daniel Baldwin).

Super Mario Bros. 1993

Brooklyn plumbers Mario (Bob Hoskins) and Luigi (John Leguizamo) rescue Princess Daisy from King Koopa (Dennis Hopper) and the Goombas in a dinosaur world.

This has some interesting apocalyptic looking vehicles especially police cars.

That bar sounds like the walking dead.

Here's one from Japan. This is an advert for the Nissan Safari or something (???). Presented in a way that only the Japanese could (read: inexplicable). Your guess is as good as mine. Hell of a flashy commercial though. Or whatever it is.

Thats not a advert for a Safari, thats is an advert or something for Japanese TV show called Seibu Keisatsu

Probably the same red light the sheriff used on the taxi in the movie as his car...

1975-1978 Plymouth Fury with Edge bar. (A-Team Episode 1985)
Man, that's so out of place on that car. Damn Hollywood, lol.

Jaws 2 (1978)

Chief Brody’s Chevy Blazer, town ambulance and the police boat. A few noteworthy points:

- Chief Brody’s Blazer in the first Jaws movie was tan and white with an all-red Federal Signal VisiBar. In this movie the Blazer is white and blue with an all-blue VisiBar.

- The ambulance in Jaws 2 clearly has a TwinSonic 12x lightbar. Nothing special there. But.. it appears to have a pair of TwinSonic CTS domes. The driver’s side has an amber cutout on the rear. The passenger side has an amber cutout on the front (because it’s a CTS dome on the wrong side). Actually looks cool. Now I’m wondering why we never saw any other TwinSonic dome cutouts in a greater variety color combinations. Especially since they appear to bring some diversity to the appearance of the flashes.. even on the 12, 12x.. and all the other TwinSonic iterations. The only example I can think of is the Multnomah Sheriff’s custom CTS driver’s side dome (Blue dome with two cutouts.. red to the front and amber to the rear).

- The Amity Police boat has a TwinSonic bar in the early shots. Once Chief Brody crashes the boat into small island of rocks housing a utility hub it suddenly has a Signal Stat Dual Comm bar. Obviously two different boats.

My wife calls me in to see this. She is watching Boris Karloff's Thriller and see's this light. Interesting white base. 2 bulb rotator. What do you think it is? I was thinking a 17 with a 14 dome, but there appears to be two bands around the base.

From a new tv show coming to one of the networks called “Deputy.” This shot was in the preview. Reminds me of 240-Robert (for those of us born before 1980). 131FC463-6BBC-4678-94AC-83E15B78B0CE.jpeg

From The Minions. Some badass looking police cars. Looks like they’re about 34ft long. And whoever did the animations did a great job on the lights. Pretty convincing Federal Signal Beacon Rays. Clear domes with four sealed beams that alternate red/blue/red/blue.

Pouring rain, so watching the pilot of Emergency! Lots of Mars lights!! In the opening, when fire crews are at the factory, they are cranking down something on 2 1/2 nozzles. Not the bail, it's like they are tightening the coupling or something.

Any ideas? I'll try to get a screen shot.

“Streets of San Francisco” (1972-1977). Completely forgot that these guys sported a Federal Signal VitaLite.

By the way.. if you’re on Twitter you MuST follow @Super70sSports. They crack me up at least three times a day.
