May seem stupid, but i would slide the feet in, take up some of that space. Slide the feet in till there is about 1''-2'' between the straps and the mount.

Like stated earlier, MOST of the leds in the bars not designed for other use don't have markings on them. I would say from the pictures you posted they are actual Code 3.
